USMLE Step 2-CS Examination Mentorship Program

Update Statement​

The purpose of the program is to provide mentorship for those whose plan is to prepare themselves for USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills Examination and fulfill the requirements of ECMFG Certification. This program aims to match participants who would like to find themselves a practice partner and mentor throughout the exam process as this process can be overwhelming.
Eligibility criteria:
In order to be eligible for the program, applicants must meet all of the requirements below.
1. The applicant must be a member of Whitetulip Health Foundation.
2. The applicant must have taken step 1 and has passed.
3. The applicant must be planning to take CS exam in the next 6-months.

This is a statement aims to provide a brief update on ECFMG Certification requirements for 2021 Match based on the recent official announcement from ECFMG.

Here are the main points we would like to highlight:

  • The pathways to be obtain ECFMG certificate are directed toward international medical graduates (IMGs) who intend to enter the 2021 Match.
  • If an applicant does not match to a program for 2021-2022 academic year, these ECFMG certificates will expire.
  • All applicants will need to attain a satisfactory score on an English proficiency assessment. It is more than likely that TOEFL will be one of the acceptable tests to meet this requirement. We, as Whitetulip Step 2 CS Mentorship Committee, are currently working on how we can help you to meet this requirement successfully.
  • There are five different pathways established. ECFMG will announce additional details and specific instructions to meet the requirements for each pathway very soon. Please follow up the announcements carefully.
  • Pathways 1 and 3 are applicable to IMGs graduated from medical schools in Turkey and similar countries, and their eligibility criteria are listed below:
  • Pathway 1:
    • Applicant has held a full, unrestricted license or registration to practice medicine any country at any time on or after January 1, 2015.
    • License does not need to be currently valid.
    • The license or registration has not been subject to disciplinary action.
